Our holidays in Vietnam and Vietnam vacations include the Imperial Citadel of Hue, the Perfume River, classic Hue cuisine, the DMZ ( De-militarized Zone), Bach Ma National Park, the East Sea, Hoi An, and My Khe Beach

Hue, Bach Ma National Park, Hoi An, My Son

Your Vietnam vacation commences with three days in Hue, beginning with ...
... a transfer from the airport, time to relax, a 'Welcome' dinner and a busy day investigating Vietnam's Imperial heartland in prospect. With the massive Citadel, the flamboyant tombs of the Nguyen Emperors, distinctive cuisine, rich cultural traditions and the peaceful Perfume River, Hue has a lot to offer. You'll see it all. You'll also cycle around the ‘garden house' area, and eat classic Hue cuisine prepared and served by a descendent of the Imperial Court.

Meals: two breakfasts, two lunches and two dinners

A day in the war zone
The DMZ was the theatre where the Vietnam War raged most fiercely. There's not much left, but your expert guide will revisit the past to place one of the most savage conflicts into its historical context. It's an evocative place – whispered echoes of the battles seem to float through the air, speaking not only of death and destruction but also of rebirth and renewal. Then it's back to Hue with a free morning to follow.
Guide: all day
Meals: one breakfast and one lunch

Two days in one of Vietnam's best national parks
Bach Ma is an example of good environmental conservation. It's rich in bio-diversity and has panoramic views over the coastal strip and the East Sea. There are several nature trails from gentle strolls to arduous trekking – the choice is yours. You'll spend the night in renovated colonial villa (the park used to be a popular French hill-station) high on the mountain slopes. Around lunchtime, Hoi An beckons. The drive south takes you via Danang and the famed Marble Mountains, so there's plenty to do on the way.
from leaving Hue to arriving in Hoi An
Meals: two breakfasts, two lunches and one dinner

Three days in Hoi An
Beguiling Hoi An is the polar opposite to Hue, a tiny ancient port tucked away in the middle of a modern town - most of our clients call it ‘charming'. Its peaceful streets and old wooden houses cuddle up to each other and gaze across what was once the sea that made it an important trading centre, but is now the Thu Bon River. The Ancient Town is also within easy reach of Cua Dai Beach, part of the stretch of sand that includes the famous My Khe Beach. You'll have a guide to show you Hoi An's chequered history and, if you wish, an optional half-day excursion to My Son, a remarkable monument to an even more remarkable civilization. Then it's back to the airport for your flight to either Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.
one day, and another half day if you choose the My Son option
Meals: three breakfasts, and one lunch - two if you choose the My Son option
