Day 1: Ha Noi arrival (Dinner (D))
Enter Vietnam at Ha Noi airport. Welcome dinner and evening water puppet performance.
Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Ha Noi (Breakfast (B), Lunch (L), Guide (G))
All day city tour of Hanoi including the main sights and the Old Quarter
Overnight in Ha Noi.
Alternative for Day 2

Day 3: Biking through villages surrounding Ha Noi (B, L, G)
Cycling to villages surrounding Hanoi. Traditional Quan Ho music performance.
Overnight in Ha Noi.


Day 4: Ha Noi to Ha Long (B, L, D, G)
Arrive at Ha Long Bay - twenty-four hours cruising on one of the world's most impressive natural phenomena.
Overnight on traditional-style boat with full board accommodation

Day 5: Ha Long to Ha Noi to Sa Pa (B, L, D, G)
Morning: cruising. Disembark at noon after lunch
Afternoon: return to Ha Noi for overnight sleeper train to Sa Pa.

Day 6: Ethnic market tour - Sa Pa (B, L, G)
Arrival at Lao Cai station and drive to a remote ethnic market. Return to Lao Cai and drive to Sapa.
Overnight in Sapa.

Days 7, 8 and 9 (B, L, D, G / B, L, D, G / B, L, G)
Three-day trek (or Jeep journey) - villages of the H'mong, Giay, Dzao and Tay ethnic people. ‘Al fresco' picnic lunches. Dinner and overnight in ethnic stilt house.
Third day: trek (or Jeep journey) to Thanh Phu village. Drive to Sa Pa.
Overnight in Sapa.

Day 10: Free day in Ha Noi
Free day in Hanoi.
Overnight in Ha Noi.

Day 11: Ha Noi to Hue (B, G)
Morning: free time
Afternoon: fly to Hue. Visit the Imperial Citdel.
Overnight in Hue.

Day 12: Hue (B, L, G)
Morning: visit to Thien Mu Pagoda and cruise along the Perfume River to King Minh Mang's tomb. Afternoon: visit to King Tu Duc and a sculpture garden.
Evening: Hue's ‘garden houses' and dinner hosted by the owner.
Overnight in Hue.

Day 13: Hue to Hoi an (B, L, G)
Morning drive to Da Nang - Cham Museum en-route. Afternoon visit to Hoi An Ancient Town.
Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 14: Hoi an to My Son to Hoi An (B, G)
Morning: My Son Sanctuary. Free time in the afternoon.
Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 15: Hoi an to Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City (B, L, G)
Afternoon flight to Ho Chi Minh City.
Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 16: Ho Chi Minh City (B, L, G)
All-day city tour of Ho Chi Minh City's main sights - Museum of War Remnants, Ben Thanh market, Jade Emperor Temple, etc.
Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 17: Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh Long to Can Tho (B, L, G)
Morning: drive to Vinh Long. Cruise the Mekong River including Cai Be floating market
Afternoon: travel to Can Tho
Overnight in Can Tho.

Day 18: Can Tho (B, L, G)
Drive to Cai Rang, boat cruise on the Mekong Delta. Drive to Soc Trang
Overnight in Can Tho

Day 19: Can Tho To Ho Chi Minh (B, L, G)
Return to Ho Chi Minh City. Free time p.m.
Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 20: Ho Chi Minh to Tay Ninh and Cu Chi (B, L, D, G)
Morning: visit the Cao Dai Holy See (mid-day ceremony)
Afternoon: visit the Cu Chi tunnels
Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 21: Departure flight (B, G)
Departure from Ho Chi Minh City airport.

At the time of quotation, Haivenu reserves the right to adjust prices to take account of unusual movements in currency markets, hotel and transport costs as a result of inflationary price pressures in oil and other commodity markets.

* 'Single room occupancy' refers to the accommodation element of the programme only, and applies to someone who is travelling with others but requires an additional room for him or herself. Single traveller prices are available on request.

Our prices include:

  • Breakfast and accommodation in twin or double rooms. Pick-ups and transfers by private air-conditioned vehicle as specified in the itinerary above Domestic flight tickets: Hanoi - Hue and Danang - Ho Chi Minh City, including domestic airport taxes.
  • Return train tickets: Hanoi - Lao Cai - Hanoi, good local standard four-berth cabin in 'Ratraco/Tulico' carriage (air-conditioned soft four-berth cabin)
  • Boat cruise as programme. Cruise on Ha Long Bay in a high quality wooden boat with comfortable accommodation, good facilities and an experienced crew. The boat will be fully licensed and comply with current safety regulations. Travel by private, air-conditioned vehicles with experienced, safe drivers. The services of an experienced English-speaking guide as indicated in the itinerary Entry fees for all sightseeing as mentioned in the programme. Lunches and dinners, as specified, in the best local restaurants, picnics where suitable restaurants are not available and full board on the boat in Ha Long Bay.
