Arrival Noi Bai airport (Hanoi), transfer and check-in. Welcome dinner.
Evening Water Puppetry performance.
Overnight in Ha Noi.

2: Ha Noi to Cuc Phuong (Breakfast (B), Lunch (L), Guide (G))
Morning drive to Ninh Binh. Visit Tam Coc (scenic river valley in limestone
‘karst’ mountain area. Drive to Cuc Phuong Forest National Park (Primate
Rescue Centre and Botanical Garden).
Overnight in Park guest house.
Day
3: Cuc Phuong (B, L, G)
Hike through subtropical forest, visiting visit a cave with prehistoric
remains en-route. Return to Ha Noi.
Overnight in Ha Noi.
Day
4: Ha Noi to Ba Be (B, L, D, G)
Drive to Ba Be Lake National Park (240km) through mountain scenery.
Overnight in a ‘stilt’ house. 
Day
5: Ba Be (B, L, G)
Travel the river by motor launch through Puong Cave. Visit the Fairy Pond
and Widow’s Island. In the late afternoon, disembark at a Tay ethnic village.
Overnight in a ‘stilt’ house.
Additional
day in Ba Be.
Day
6: Ba Be to Hanoi (B, L, G)
Return to Ha Noi, visiting an ethnic market en-route, arriving Ha Noi
late afternoon.
Overnight in Ha Noi.

7: Hanoi to Cat Ba Island (B, L, D, G)
Drive to Hai Phong. Hydrofoil to Cat Ba Island.
Overnight in Cat Ba town.
Day
8: Cat Ba (B, L, D, G)
Full day hiking through the National Park (six hours, about 18 km) passing
lakes and caves, and visiting Viet Hai village. Travel back to the town
by boat.
Overnight in Cat Ba town.
Day
9: Cat Ba to Ha Long to Hanoi (B, L, G)
Cross Ha Long Bay in a traditional-style boat .
Overnight in Ha Noi.
Day
10: Hanoi to Bach Ma (B, L, D, G)
Noon flight to Hue. Drive 60 km to Bach Ma National Park.
Overnight in the Park. 
Day
11: Bach Ma (B, L, G)
Climb 500m for views and the sunrise (weather permitting). Walk along
the Rhododendron trail and Five-Lakes cascade trail (6 km in total), and
the Pheasant Trail (2.5 km), pausing for lunch en-route
Overnight in the Park.
Day
12: Bach Ma to Hue to Hanoi (B, L, D, G)
Drive to Hue. Fly to Noi Bai airport in Hanoi.
