Attractions: This is one of the classic
Cambodia holidays and tours that feature temple and pagodas, sunset cruise
and Angkor Wat Temples tour.
Destinations:
Phnom Penh and Siem Riep.
 Day
1: Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh (Breakfast (B), Dinner
(D))
Morning flight to Phnom Penh. Arriving at Pochentong airport in Phnom
Penh, you’ll be met and driven to your hotel. After lunch, you visit the
National Museum and the Silver Pagoda, followed by a sunset cruise on
the Chatomouk River.
Overnight in Phnom Penh.
Day
2: Phnom Penh to Siem Riep (B, Lunch (L), D, Guide (G))
Morning flight to Siem Riep. This day and the next will be devoted to
the Temple complex, of which Ankor Wat is a key element. You’ll begin
with a visit to Ankor Thom, starting with the Bayon, a bizarre structure
of several architectural changes reflecting a switch from Hinduism (the
foundations) to Buddhism (the superstructure). Your next visit will be
to the Elephant and Leper King Terraces followed by the Baphoun Temple,
which is now nearing the end of an eight-year multi-million dollar restoration
programme. In the afternoon, you’ll explore Angkor Wat itself, the largest,
and for most people, the most impressive temple in the complex after which
you can watch the sunset from the top of Phnom Bakheng Hill. Overnight
in Siem Riep.
Day
3: Siem Riep (B, L, D, G)
Your day will be taken up with visits to some of the outer sites including
Takeo, a five-tiered pyramid, Sras Srang lake and landing terrace and
Prasat Kravan (also known as the Cardomom Sanctuary), Pre Rup and East
Mebon, both built in the tenth century, Ta Som, an unrestored temple,
and Neak Pean, a Himalayan-style lake and sanctuary.
Overnight in Siem Riep.
Day
4: Siem Riep (B, L, G)
Morning visit to Siem Riep River, Wat Athovea and a boat trip on Tonle
Sap Lake, a natural reservoir that partly controls the level of floods
in the Mekong Delta, visiting a floating fishing village en route.
Free time in the afternoon until you're pickd up for your departure flight.
